In the last few days we have been hearing the name Cashmere Cat a little more than usual. It could be because he just came out with a new single called Adore featuring none other than Ariana Grande. But, the reality is that Cashmere Cat has been around for a while. Cashmere Cat is a DJ and producer from Norway who has not only produced songs for many artists, but has also created some of the best remixes. Here are five things you need to know about Cashmere Cat.
1. He was in the DMC World DJ Championships
Representing Norway, Cashmere Cat was known as DJ Final for a couple of years. This video just gives us a look at a very young Cashemere showing off his full raw talent. So amazing.
2. He was on the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack
His song Mirror Maru was featured on the GTA5 soundtrack back in 2012. You can find his song under the game’s Worldwide FM station.
3. He collaborated with Kanye West
During Kanye’s Addias Fashion Show, Ye debuted his song Wolves which features Sia and Vic Mensa. But, you know who is one of the producers of that song? Yup, Cashmere Cat.

4. He’s tight with Ariana Grande
Cashmere Cat has been working quite closely with Ariana Grande. She is featured in his new single Adore, he was featured in and produced Be My Baby on her new album My Everything, and he is also making special appearances on her The Honeymoon Tour! By the looks of their Instagram account this concert is a must. Oh, and she also calls him “Cashy”. Def BFF level.
5. He creates SICK remixes
This remix of Ryn Weaver’s OctaHate is probably one of our favourites. This 27-year-old DJ is definitely not limited to one type of genre or artist. He has worked with everyone, from up-and-coming artists like Ryn Weaver to some of biggest artists like Ludacris, Wiz Kalifah and Jeremih.
We have a feeling we are going to be hearing a lot more from Cashmere Cat this year (if you haven’t already). He is going to be performing at many festivals this summer including Coachella and Bestival. We CANNOT wait to see/hear the new stuff he brings this year!
Bonus: He was an adore-able child
With with a name like Magnus August Høiberg and a look like this, this young boy was definitely born to be cool.
